A Killer Routine for Ripped, Six-Pack Abs

Obtaining ripped, six-pack abs requires that you reduce your abdominal fat as much as possible while developing the underlying abdominal muscles.  No matter how hard you work on your abdominal muscles, your efforts will be in vain if you're not reducing your body fat by a reduced-caloric diet, intense cardio, and full-body weight training. Assuming that you have that part under control, the next key element in obtaining your ripped, six-pack ab look is the specific training of the abdominal muscles. 

The abdominal muscle group is no different from other muscles and can be trained 2-3 times per week with at least one rest day between workouts.  Each workout should include 2-4 abdominal exercises for 2-4 sets per exercise within a repetition range of 8-20. The abdominal muscles recover quickly between sets and, therefore, rest between sets should be less than one minute. For the best muscular development, abdominal exercises such as Hanging Knee Raises, Bicycle Maneuver, Reverse Crunches, and Crunches on the Ball should be the mainstay of your ab training routines. 
If you've been training your abs for a while, then try the following killer routine to get the ripped, muscular six-pack ab look.  Perform as a circuit for four circuits with minimal rest between exercises and 30 seconds rest between circuits 
Bicycle Maneuver -  for 20 reps
Hanging Knee Raises -  for 15 reps
Crunches on Exercise Ball -  for 12 reps
Reverse Crunches -  for 8 reps 
It's important that each exercise be performed with strict form and proper technique.  Each repetition should be performed in a controlled manner by taking 2-3 seconds to contract the abs and 3-4 seconds to extend the abs.  
This routine will thoroughly fatigue the abdominal muscles to stimulate growth while also helping to burn body fat.  Add this killer routine to your arsenal of abdominal training techniques.

Stop crunching and try this simple routine for absolutely ripped abs

Sorry guys, but crunches and sit-ups will never give you rock-solid abs on their own. Research has found that many of these popular movements that are supposed to get you a chiseled mid-section in no time don’t actually produce any significant results and place a lot of strain on other parts of the body such as the neck, spine and lower back. Instead, you should first try harder to eat right and reduce your body fat by burning more calories than you consume (belly fat does a wonderful job at covering them up, remember?).



Some seasoned bodybuilders would even go as far as to say that abs are made in the kitchen and not in the gym. Next, you have to engage in a diverse workout routine that targets each of the upper and lower abdominal muscles and works them from every possible angle.
There is more to the abdominal area than the six-pack – this muscle group includes many interconnected muscles that run up the back and stretch down to the butt, and all of them should get a piece of the action if you want to get the kind of ripped stomach you see on magazine covers.
Forget about crunches and try this program of six exercises that effectively target all abdominal muscles and promote greater fat loss and a better muscle building response than any of the traditional abs exercises. You can do them in straight sets, resting 30 seconds between sets, or in a circuit with no rest between exercises.
Ready to build a washboard mid-section? Make your abs scream with the routine below!

Lie on your back with the head and back relaxing on the ground, arms extended by your sides. Tighten your abs and hold the legs straight out and lifted about six inches above the ground. Start the movement by lifting the left leg higher than the right leg, then lower it as you lift the right leg higher. This should be done quickly, in a scissor-like motion.
You can also tuck your hands underneath the glutes for a better control of the movement. One kick with each leg constitutes one rep. Perform 5 sets of 15 reps.

Body Position

  1. Select a barbell of light weight to begin with.
  2. Position the feet shoulder width apart, or not much more, with toes under the bar. The feet point straight ahead or they can angle out slightly. Heels should stay flat on the surface. When you lift, the bar should travel close to the shins and may even lightly graze them.
  3. The hands should be positioned with the ‘mixed grip’ for heavier weights but an overhand grip is okay for light weights. The mixed grip has one hand grasping the bar with the palm under the bar (supinated) and the other hand with the palm over the bar (pronated). The standard overhand grip has both hands with palm down. If you can see the backs of both hands, that’s the overhand grip.
  4. The grip can be wider or narrower on the bar. A common starting position is a grip perpendicular from the point of the shoulder with arms straight down. A slightly wider grip may suit some people and a wide-grip deadlift is a valid variation. The standard grip utilizes the quadriceps (rather than hip and back with the wide grip), and is more suitable for heavier lifts.
  5. The head (and eyes) should reflect a neutral spine position neither crooked noticeably up nor down, although a very slight upward tilt is not uncommon or unsafe when putting the effort in.

How to Do a Perfect Deadlift

The deadlift can be performed with a bar and plates or fixed barbell. This description uses the barbell with plates. Several advanced variations are possible with alternative leg and grip positions.
As for all exercises, don’t lift too heavy to begin with and stop if pain is felt, particularly in the lower back. Remember to breathe; don’t hold the breath at any point.
Muscles worked: quadriceps (front thighs), hamstrings (back of thigh), gluteals (butt), lower back, core muscles, and some arm and shoulder muscles.
The deadlift is a full-body exercise and all-rounder, building strength, power and muscle in one compound 
exercise.
